Shredded memory foam pillows are different from one-piece products because they contain smaller pieces of memory foam bits rather than one solid block of material. These types of cushions may contain 100 percent memory foam or a blend of various materials, such as fiberfill or latex. These material blends can be great for unique needs.
One of the advantages of sleeping on a shredded memory foam pillow is that these types often allow users to customize the amount of fill inside the product, making it fluffier and more robust or flatter, and smaller as needed. Stomach sleepers often prefer flatter pillows due to the curvature of their back and positioning their spine is in when they sleep. If stomach sleepers lie on a pillow that is too large, they risk injuring their neck and back.
Back sleepers often enjoy shredded memory foam pillows as well because of the pose they take during sleep. However, if back sleepers rest on a cushion that's too robust, it could risk hurting them, similarly as it might hurt a stomach sleeper, but on the opposite side of the neck.
